We are excited to welcome Ann Schulte to Quindar as our Senior Frontend Engineer! Ann doesn't come from the aerospace industry and WE LOVE THAT. It gives our team a fresh perspective that will challenge the way we have always thought about a spacecraft test and operations flow within the Quindar web app. We also gained another skateboarder in the crew!

Q: Can you share with us a bit about your career path?

My career started as a full-stack developer and then transitioned into front-end engineering roles. I had the opportunity to work with small and large teams, as well as with a diverse group of peers. Throughout my career, I have gained experience working with users, designing products, and helping engineering efforts. These experiences have shaped my passion for using code as a tool to solve problems and empower users.

Q: I'm curious to know what sparked your interest in space?

I was drawn to the space industry because of my love for nature and the stars. The idea of exploring planets and learning about other forms of plant life, geography, and typography is fascinating. I am thrilled to have the chance to work in the aerospace industry and be part of space exploration with Quindar.

Q: Moving on to your current position at Quindar, what aspect of it excites you the most?

What excites me the most about my current position at Quindar is the opportunity to work with users to simplify their experience of managing spacecrafts. I enjoy talking with users to understand their needs while finding new and insightful ways to display data.

Q: As someone with experience outside of the aerospace industry, what skills or knowledge do you hope to bring to Quindar and the wider community?

As someone with experience outside of the aerospace industry I am excited to ask and understand the why behind existing aerospace standards. My hope is to gain a deep understanding of the aerospace industry and the users of Quindar to help better develop and design a simple yet robust product.

Q: Looking back on your journey so far, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Looking back on my journey so far, I would advise my younger self to thoughtfully question existing patterns in a product and always understand the why and who of a problem. Knowing why a feature is being built and who it is for is at the root of creating meaningful experiences.

Q: What brings you joy and happiness in your free time?

In my free time, I find joy in a variety of activities. One of my biggest hobbies is skateboarding, which allows me to express myself creatively and stay active.

I also enjoy working on house projects, building things and being outside. And of course, I always make time for drinking too much coffee and laughing with friends and loved ones.
